Why come Back?

Make the choice; choose the sixth form at Maesteg.

Always believe in yourself – you can do it if you are prepared to make the effort, and keep working towards your goals.

Enjoy learning; - education can be fun – if you take advice, and are prepared to put in the effort that we know allows your success.

Share your skills. Others can learn from you! Don’t be shy, join in, we need your help.

Take pride in everything you do. The sixth form can be great role models for the rest of the school. Show them what you can do, and make them want to be sixth formers too!

Earn your credits – offer your help, in any way, shape or form!

Go on, sign up – the new term starts soon, we want to see you in September.

We can teach you to strive for the targets that you and others set, and always to reach further, achieving your true potential by believing always in yourselves.

What do we expect from our Sixth Form?

RESPECT – Mutual respect is paramount. We encourage students in the sixth form to respect authority, their peers, the school environment and the wider community. Students need to understand the value of mutual respect, and its benefits. Respect should be integrated throughout all aspects of their lives, and they should set an example to other students in the school.

RESPONSIBILITY – There are many students who immediately show that they are responsible from an early age. However, others may need help in understanding that they too can be responsible in different ways. We can start by showing them how they can be responsible for their own learning, meeting deadlines, managing their time well, helping others achieve in some way. There are many ways to encourage students of all abilities to develop this, preparing them for the demands on their time in the world outside the school.

RELIABILITY – A welcome trait in us all! There are always students who show how reliable they can be from an early age, but others may need direction to develop this. We can show them how they can manage time, improve and maintain their attendance, meet their deadlines, maintain their standards, help others and work as part of a team which will develop further understanding of the value of being regarded as a reliable person.

To raise self esteem and develop "Learning to Learn" skills in order to become life long learners.
