Guidance Faculty
The
Pupils Guidance Faculty is situated in its own area and consists
of Personal and Social Education (PSE), Careers and Special
Needs.
Personal
and Social Education (PSE) / Careers
Students
follow a weekly PSE programme which includes Health Education,
Sex Education and Careers.
Sex
Education is taught by Form Tutors with additional input provided
by specialists such as Health Visitors, GP’s, Health
Promotion. All aspects are covered with particular emphasis
on good relationships, responsibility and health.
Time
within this lesson is also allocated to compiling their personal
Pupil Progress file, which will in time be useful to parents,
employers and establishments of further education.
The
curriculum of Year 10 or Year 11 is enriched by a period of
one week’s work experience, which enables pupils to
broaden their horizons and gain an insight into the world
of work.
